For today’s ride I went to Yummy Donuts. I went there because Yummy Donuts is my favorite doughnut place in town, and Drip Coffee is my dad‘s favorite coffee place in town, and they are in the same shopping center.
First I went through the SMU campus and saw a golden Dome that I think looks really cool. Also you get to ride on red and gray brick.
But this time I went a different way than my Katy Trail ride and did not see the Doak Walker statue.
I saw an American flag at half mast. I wasn’t sure why it was at half mast today. I think I heard on the news yesterday, but I can’t remember now.
Then it was pretty downhill for about three blocks or so, which means that on the way back I would have to come up hill a long way.
I rode past Goar Park and saw the gazebo. Then I kept riding and saw a really tiny park called Meadows Park.
I kept going, across Preston, and passed Highland Park High School. I went to Armstrong Parkway and turned right onto Armstrong Parkway and rode up to the shopping center at Lovers Lane.
I went in to Yummy Donuts and got a glazed twist, a cinnamon twist, and a bottle of orange juice. My dad went a few doors down to Drip Coffee and he got his usual medium mocha brain freeze light with no whip cream.
After we finished eating we got back on our bikes and rode back to Preston where my dad tried to take me through an alley, but it just went into a dead end. So we turned around and went back out of the alley to Druid, the street that goes in front of the houses there.
We kept riding until we came to the big long stretch of a hill that was three blocks or so that was the downhill piece that we rode earlier on the ride.
Then we went back through SMU and rode home.
Altogether we rode 5.02 miles.
Sounds like a great ride! Next time you need to go to mommy’s favorite place — Starbucks!!! Bring me home my chai tea. You know my order by heart!
Thank you. Probably to close and or not on a trail.
Sam –
Your biking adventures look like sooooo much fun!!! I am going to get my bike tuned up so I can get out with Katelyn, Michael and Jake! I also need a helmet and need to check out Bike Works.

It’s hard but fun.
Hi Sam,
Biking to food is always a great idea! On Ben and Jerry’s free ice cream day, we bike to all three of the B and J’s in Charlotte. You might want to try that in Dallas.
Maybe I will.
Hi Sam!
This ride looked like a lot of fun and you got a treat too! Nice job!
Thank you. the donuts were yummy.
Sam, another fantastic bike trip. Knowing your love for doughnuts, this was probably your best trip. Love the photos and the tour through Dallas.
Thank you. Look at this post My Ride to Fair Oaks Tennis Center
I love all the visuals in your posts. Great work! Don’t forget: people love selfies. 🙂
I’ll make sure to do a selfie next ride.
It is always good to know what donut places you can ride your bike to! Love the post. Great job Sam!
I’m glad I can ride to yummy donuts and get a treat.
