For today’s ride I went to Fair Oaks Tennis Center because I needed to get a new racket. I needed a new one because mine was too small.
First we went to the University Crossing Trail.
Then I got on the Ridgedwood Trail and did the easy part of the badlands.
I saw some rocks that had Ridgewood Trail carved on them.
I went down a hill and got on the SoPac Trail. Then I kept going on the SoPac Trail and there’s a part where you go like 8 feet under ground level.
Then I kept going on on the SoPac and got on the Flag Pole Hill Trail. I kept going and there was a big hill and it was right by the cars driving on Northwest Highway.
At the bottom of the hill we turned onto the White Rock Creek Trail. On the White Rock Creek Trail there was a bunch of bridges that were like little hills. There was a lot of nature and I went under a bunch of bridges that have cars going on top of them.
Then we got to the tennis center and looked at some tennis rackets because mine is too small. A guy named Donnie helped us out and let us play on the tennis courts to try out the racket. A lady behind the desk said this is good place to get water so we refilled our water bottle.
We got back on the White Rock Creek Trail, then went back on the Flag Pole Hill Trail. I passed by a bike store which will be the destination on one of my future rides.
I tried to get back up the big hill right by the Northwest Highway. I got about a half way up before I had to stop and walk the rest of the way up.
Then I went down the rest of the Flagpole Hill Trail, to the SoPac Trail, to the Ridgewood Trail, to the University Crossing Trail, and back home.
The Badlands was easier because I had my brother’s bike. It had gears I could use to make things easier.
Altogether I went 11.56 miles.
11.56 MILES! Wow that is far. Sounds like a very fun ride. Miss you!!!
It was hard and tiring.
What a fun adventure you had, Sam! I loved reading about it and looking at the pictures. You have inspired me – I think I’ll go on a bike ride this afternoon 🙂 AND…I’m so happy you got a new tennis racquet! Have you had any more lessons?
Thank you. Yes I have had one.
Sam,
I am so proud of your bike riding, tennis playing, and most of all your writing!! You have a great future ahead of you!
Love,
Mrs. Grigsby
Thank you! I’m good at writing because of you!
